Cheers to the Weekend – The Fitzwilliam Hotel Unveils New Bloody Mary Menu

Some things never go out of style, and at The Fitzwilliam, the Bloody Mary is one of them. When the hotel first opened its doors in 1998, it became renowned for its impeccable take on this legendary cocktail. Now, over a quarter of a century later, The Lounge at The Fitzwilliam is paying homage to its past with a brand-new Bloody Mary menu (all priced at €17), and five bold takes on one of the world’s favourite cocktails, each with its own distinctive twist.

Served daily from midday to 10pm in the hotel’s newly opened Lounge, this inventive new menu brings together Irish ingredients, global inspiration, and a little Fitzwilliam flair, making The Lounge the perfect place to sit back and savour a Bloody Mary (or two!).

Said to have been invented in the 1920s at the famed Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, this spicy, savoury cocktail has been beloved for over a century. As the ultimate brunch companion, a pre-dinner pick-me-up, or a cure for the day after the night before, the Bloody Mary is a cocktail with personality, and at The Fitzwilliam, it’s got plenty…

Here’s what’s on the new Bloody Mary menu…

Bloody Irish Mary

The Bloody Irish Mary is an Irish twist on the classic, using iStil 38 Irish Vodka and Mic’s Chilli Inferno Sauce for an extra fiery kick. Topped with Achill Island Smoked Sea Salt, Dublin Bay prawns, and Irish pickles, this one is all about local flavour with a luxurious edge.

Bloody Caesar

A Canadian favourite lands in Dublin with the Bloody Caesar, made with Clamato, Absolut Vodka, and a house bloodymix (Angostura bitters, Worcestershire Sauce & Tabasco), this one’s rich and briny, garnished with a celery stick & lemon twist.

Bloody Maria

Viva la revolución with a Bloody Maria — a spicy number swapping out vodka for Olmeca Tequila, and blending tomato juice, lime juice, Tabasco, and red chilli sauce for a feisty south-of-the-border version. Garnished with chilli, olives & pickles, it’s a bold choice for those who like their cocktails with a bit of heat.

Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary

Make it your own with a Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary, starting with a simple but perfect blend of tomato juice, Absolut Vodka, lemon juice, Worcestershire Sauce, salt and pepper, and the rest is up to you. Get creative with garnishes and spice levels to invent your own ideal drink.

5-Star Bloody Mary

Possibly the most indulgent of them all is the 5-Star Bloody Mary, an elevated take that features Dingle Irish Vodka, Warres Warrior Reserve Port, and the house bloody mix, delivering a rich, complex depth of flavour. If a Bloody Mary could be five-star luxury, this is it.

That’s our weekend plans sorted anyway…
