Ingredients
For the cake:
- 7 oz 200g butter, softened
- 7 oz 200g caster sugar
- 6 oz 170g self raising flour
- 1 oz 30g cocoa powder
- 3 eggs
- Place the butter & sugar into a bowl and mix well until pale and creamed well together
- Add the cocoa powder flour and eggs. Mix well until everything is combined
- Line two 7” tins and preheat oven to 140oC. Divide the cake evenly between the two tins place in the oven and bake for 20-25 mins until springy to touch
- Carefully remove from the tins and leave to cool completely
For the icing:
- 175 g icing sugar
- 125 g milk chocolate
- 125 g unsalted butter
- Place the chocolate in a bowl and place over pan of barely simmering water and leave until fully melted
- Place the butter and icing sugar in a bowl and mix until well combined and pale
- Add the melted chocolate and mix until everything is well combined
For the top:
- 50 g melted chocolate
- Strawberries
Instructions
- Sandwich the two cakes together with a generous amount of the frosting. Place a small thin layer on top and smooth out with a small palette knife
- Top with strawberries and drizzle melted chocolate on top
