Rei Momo: Drury Street’s New Brazilian Grill and Caipirinha Bar

There’s a brand new Brazilian wood grill & Caipirinha Bar on Drury Street, in the space that was formerly Bootleg. Rei Momo (which translates to King Momo – the king of carnival), is here just in time to celebrate Carnival and the spring season, with the pop-up running initially from March to May.

They’ll be slinging Caipirinhas, cooking on wood fire and serving up some Brazilian classics alongside some modern takes. We’re particularly excited about their Sunday family-style Feijoada feasts – a black bean and meat stew that is the famous slow-cooked, flavour-packed national dish of Brazil.

Other dishes on the menu include pork spare ribs with guava; monkfish skewers with a Brazilian seafood curry; chicken hearts with Caipirinha yoghurt, plus a variety of tempting small plates and weekly specials.

Speaking to TheTaste, Rei Momo said that they got the inspiration for the new venture from Brazilian carnival and celebrations of spring. Brazilian Restaurant manager and graphic designer Elias is leading this project with Thom Lawson as owner, with the team saying that Elias “has always been very passionate about his country’s culture and food so we worked together to bring a taste of Sao Paulo into Dublin’s Iconic Drury street.”

Rei Momo is open from 4pm-1am Wednesday to Friday, and 12pm-1am on Saturday and Sunday.
