Acclaimed New York City Vietnamese spot Mắm makes a limited-edition pop-up appearance in Cork on Sunday November 9th, hosted by local supper-club favourites The Tiger Balm Club. The event, part of the Cork International Film Festival’s “Culinary Cinema” strand, merges the best of culture and cuisine for one unforgettable evening.
Mắm – celebrated for its bold, uncompromising Vietnamese cuisine and recognised on the New York Times “Top 100 Restaurants” list – is bringing its signature intensity to Cork.
With a menu that constantly evolves, showcasing unique and adventurous dishes, it offers a true taste of Vietnam – the Lower East Side restaurant is as authentic as can be, right down to the imported tiny plastic stools and metal dining tables.
Guests will dive into a richly layered menu crafted by chef Jerald Head (of Mắm NYC) in collaboration with The Tiger Balm Club’s “All Killer, No Filler” approach to supper-club dining.
Expect street-style dishes loaded with flavour, fermented shrimp paste, house-made blood sausage, crispy tofu and a vibe that’s equal parts adventurous and authentic

The pop-up takes place at The Glass Curtain on Sunday 9th November at 7.15pm, offering a rare chance to experience a global culinary star without leaving Ireland.
Run by the husband-wife duo Jerald and Nhung Dao Head, the couple feature in the film Mắm by French filmmaker Nan Feix, which will be showing at the Cork International Film Festival on November 9th at 5.30pm.
