The Washerwoman, Dublin 9

The Washerwoman is on Glasnevin Hill (called locally Washerwoman’s Hill due to the local story of many washerwomen out on the hill with their mangles etc washing clothes in the Tolka river!). It’s been a well-loved and treasured restaurant in the area for years now, and is housed in a charming stone cottage which dates in part from 1700.

There will be a strong range of quirky and every day wines befitting of a neighbourhood restaurant, which makes for a special occasion, or a casual dining experience. They are working with some of their favourite craft butchers to create their own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.

One of their favourites is that they offer families the chance to come to them for a good, every-day, healthy and affordable early-bird dinner, so mammy or daddy can plan their week and look forward to their non-cooking day!

They want weekend brunch and Sunday roast at The Washerwoman to be become a north side institution. Weekday mornings and lunchtimes, they will be taking advantage of our in-house Woollen Mills bakery delights, re-creating some of those tasty Mills sandwiches to eat-in or take-out, and creating a hub for the local community to meet, drink, eat and be merry!
