Dublin 8 continues to up its food and drink game and the heart of the area, The Liberties, is about get a new multi-purpose building located at 61-63 Thomas Street which will include offices and a restaurant.
The building is currently in works and according to The Liberties Business Area Improvement Initiative, it was designed by Lawrence and Long Architects, and is one of two projects in the sector by property developer Oakmount.
The new building will give a new life to a prominent derelict building. According to The Liberties’ newsletter, a number of heritage features were discovered in the building during an earlier phase of work. These included a vaulted cellar and the timber frame of a 17th century building. These will be restored and adapted into the new building.
