Star Anise Restaurant
Located in Cork City, Star Anise Restaurant is a 35-seater restaurant serving Mediterranean and contemporary French cuisine in an informal, but cosy atmosphere. Head chef Carolyn Buckley focuses on fresh, local and seasonal produce, and has a wonderfully creative ability to match complementary flavours and textures. Star Anise serves early bird and a la carte dinner menus as well as an excellent wine list.
The restaurant also caters for private lunches, dinners, business meetings, weddings and civil ceremonies. Privacy and personalised service are assured.
Star Anise was established in May 2002 by Virginie Sarrazin, originally from Lyon, France. Virginie was surrounded by good food from a very early age, with a chef for a father and a wine expert as a mother. In 1996, she moved to Cork after finishing a Catering Management Diploma. What she thought was only going to be a short visit ended up being a home from home.
