Embrace Your Inner Meryl With a Mamma Mia Cruise Through The Greek Islands
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is fast becoming the movie musical of the season. The smash hit features songs from ABBA’s extensive repertoire, sure to impress even the pickiest of musical fans.
If you can’t get enough of the movie, why not save and spend your Money, Money, Money on a new Mamma Mia themed Greek Island cruise.
Star Clippers cruises is offering a seven day sailing from Athens. Highlighting a number of film locations from the first Mamma Mia film in 2008, set sail on one of the cruise liner’s tall ships, which are incredibly reminiscent of Meryl Streep’s Money Money Money musical number.
Stops include the island of Skopelos, home to the chapel from the movie. The chapel is perched 300 feet above the Aegean sea, with 100 steps carved into the rock path.
Movie fans can also visit Villa Donna, although the scenes were actually filmed in a studio. A nearby beach is the scene for Does Your Mother Know and is also a stop on the itinerary.
Next on the itinerary is the island of Skiathos, where scenes for the mainland where filmed and where Sophie mailed those all-important letters to her three prospective fathers.
The boats are traditional clipper ships with modern amenities like swimming pools, dining and bars. With no more than 170 guests, these special Mamma Mia sailings will be available in May, June and August 2019.
