Irish Sommelier Julie Dupouy to Compete in Finals of A.S.I’s World’s Best

Irish Sommelier Julie Dupouy has made it to the top 15 at the competition to find the World’s Best Sommelier, organised by Association de la Sommelierie Internationale (A.S.I.) and currently being held in Mendoza, Argentina. The winner will be chosen tomorrow and Julie is one out of four female contenders that made it to the shortlist.

The other 14 semi-finalists are Paz Levinson from Argentina, Robert Anderssen from Sweden, Christian Jacobsen from Denmark, Heidi Makinen from Finland, Piotr Pietras from Poland, Rassavkin Alexander from Russia, Henrik Dalh Johansen from Norway, Gareth Ferreira from South Africa, Hiroshi Hishida from Japan, David Biraud from France, Elyse Lambert from Canada, Raimonds Tomsons from Latvia, Satoru Mori from Japan, and Arvia Rosengren from Sweden.

Julie’s not a stranger to high-profile competitions and she has been a finalist in Best Sommelier in France (2008), Best Sommelier in Ireland (2009 and 2012, at the Irish Guild of Sommeliers Competition), 15th Best Sommelier in the World in Tokyo (2013) and semi-finalist Best Sommelier in Europe (2013).
