High End Non-Alcoholic Water Cocktail Bar To Open in London this Fall

High End Non-Alcoholic Water Cocktail Bar To Open in London this Fall

Department store Selfridges is set to open a water cocktail bar in London this autumn named The Source. It will be on the ground floor of the store and it will focus on high end water based non-alcoholic cocktails and luxury waters from across the world, including a £150 per litre Japanese one called Fillico Jewelry Water sold in a Swarovski-crystal-studded bottle.

Coming from the Rokko Mountains in Kobe, Japan, a region with granite rocks which are said to enhance the minerals on the palate, this water might be the crown’s jewl, but alkaline waters, functional waters with benefits and price bottles from other remote locations are expected to conform a diverse offering.

Advised by water sommeliers, The Source will offer some of the world’s best tasting and finest waters, and it will also feature infusions with fruits, herbs and other botanicals for those thirsty for a bit more complexity on their glasses.

As experts in water ensure you can taste terroir and depth in H2O, others are sceptical of the idea, however, as the trend for high end non-alcoholic options gains ground, it seems the timing is good for Selfridges’ project.

This is not Selfridges’ first flirt with high end water and non-alcoholic luxury: last year, the retailer launched a pop-up water bar and it’s one of the selected stockists of Seedlip, an innovative alcohol-free spirit that recently received a large investment from Diageo and is marketed as what you drink when you’re not drinking.
