The future of air travel is looking more thrilling by the day, especially given the latest announcement from Elon Musk. The billionaire has proposed city-to-city travel by rocket, right here on earth, with journeys taking an hour or less.
This exciting new venture was unveiled by the SpaceX CEO at a space industry conference today, September 29th.
During his talk, Musk claimed this new mode of travel would allow passengers to take “most long distance trips” in 30 minutes, and you can travel “anywhere on Earth in under an hour” for the same price of an economy class airline ticket.
The rockets would apparently have a maximum speed of 27,000 km per hour, although earth flights would travel at just over 7,000mph, allowing flights of thousands of miles in as little as 22 minutes.
They’ve also released an animated video highlighting how this rocket transport would work. If this is the future, space travel may become a viable option for us all.
