You may want to rethink your annual attempt to give up sweets for Lent, Cadbury Ireland has announced plans to open a café devoted to the Creme Egg.
Opening on Tuesday 16th February, the Crème de la Crème Egg café nestled within Lock 6 on Canal Road, Dublin 6, will be such a delight for Creme Egg fans that they won’t want to fly the coop.
The news comes a week after Cadbury opened a pop-up Creme Egg café in London’s Soho neighbourhood, ruffling feathers on social media and selling 7 weeks worth of tickets within an hour.
Speaking about the concept behind the London pop-up Marketing manager Claire Low said, “We are always looking to do something new and different with Creme Egg and recipes are a really big part of the Creme Egg social pages. Our fans have tweeted in lots of different recipes over the time and we though actually that a pop up café was a brilliant way of bringing our consumer’s favourite recipes to life“.
Similarly, the Dublin café will serve up a bespoke menu of cracking Creme Egg inspired treats, such as Creme Egg toasties, Creme Egg and soldiers and a Creme Egg tray bake. Chocolate lovers can also egg-spect some quirky entertainment plus egg-sciting special guest performers.
Though before you start planning your weekend brunch schedule for 2016 around the Creme Egg café, the café will open for a limited time only from Tuesday 16th February until Saturday 20th February, with a number of sittings available daily.
– Lunchtime sittings from 12pm – 1pm and 1pm – 2pm
– Evening sitting from 6.00pm – 7.30pm
– Saturday brunch sittings from 12.00pm – 1.30pm and 2.00pm – 3.30pm
Entry to the café is free, but booking is recommended as there is a very limited availability for walk-ins. Creme Egg fans can reserve their seats at www.cadburycremeeggcafedublin.eventbrite.com.
