How Many of the World’s Cheapest (And Most Expensive) Beaches Have you Visited?

The annual Beach Price Index has revealed the cheapest and most expensive beaches to visit around the world.

The ranking was compiled based on the cost of a number of key products, including food, drinks and suncream.

The index surveyed 310 beaches in 70 countries, with four Irish beaches making the list. The cheapest beach to visit is Cua Day Beach in Hoi An, Vietnam, where the daily spend rate is approximately €12.02 for suncream, water, beer, ice-cream and lunch.

On the other end of the spectrum are the most expensive beaches in the world at the moment, with La Plage de Maui in Tahiti, French Polynesia topping the list.

The same items purchased on this beach would set someone back approximately €53.32.

Four Irish beaches made the list and were placed roughly in the middle price-wise. Portsteward Strand in Northern Ireland comes in at number 91, while Gurteen in Connemara came in at number 128.

Killiney Beach in Dublin is Ireland’s most expensive beach, with a day of expenses coming in at approximately €26.38.

Tramore Beach in Waterford is Ireland’s cheapest beach on the list at number 135, with a daily expense rate of €24.46.
