Wine Distributor, Febvre & Company Limited introduces FEBVREUARY®, a month of wine discovery, taking place around Ireland throughout February. The concept, based on the Febvre name in conjunction with the month of February, is that Febvre will host different events in various venues throughout the month. The FEBVREUARY events, open to trade only, will include wine tasting from Febvre’s portfolio as well as allow attendees meet visiting winemakers; attend educational seminars and learn the latest in global consumer wine trends for 2016. From its opening on Monday 1st February, FEBVREUARY events will take place from Enniskillen to Kilkenny; from Belfast to Cork and many places in between.

Fiona Beckett, award winning journalist and blogger of www.matchingfoodandwine.com (the most comprehensive food pairing on the web) will demonstrate how seasoning affects your wine choice. She starts her tour of the country in Enniskillen and Belfast and each talk will be adapted to the venue where the workshop is taking place.
From France, Louis Fabrice Latour, the seventh Louis Latour and the eleventh generation of the family, will host a tasting about the Twelve Wines that tell the story of innovation at Maison Louis Latour over the last century.
Marcelo Rematal, Chief Winemaker of De Martino will talk about ‘A very different Chile’. Marcelo was named the 13th most influential in the world and the best in Latin America by Decanter magazine last December.
What promises to be a very interesting discussion will take place when winemakers Chester Osborne from D’Arenberg, McLaren Vale, Australia will join (live from there) Herve Robert of Delas Wines, France in Dublin through Skype in a Tasting of the ‘Rhône Style’ wines from D’Arenberg and the Northern and Southern Rhône wines from Delas.
Jan Konetzki, Head Sommelier at Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, London will take guests through his thought processes on creating a new wine list following his recent win of the ‘2015 Imbibe Wine List of the Year- Sommelier Award’. Jan will also offer one to one consultancy advice on your wine list after the talk – strictly by booking early.
Other interesting sessions include a Castello Banfi from Italy – ‘The Tuscan Lifestyle’ tasting; Warre’s Port Quinta da Cavadinha vertical tasting to include vintages from 1992; 1998; 2001; 2005; 2010 and 2012.
The Basque Culinary Centre ‘Irish meets Basque’ Pintxos Demonstration will be hosted by an award-winning Chef from the Basque Country and matched with a selection of wines from the award-winning Conde de Valdemar Rioja Wines. Richard Halstead, COO of Wine Intelligence UK will host a workshop on Global Consumer Wine Trends following the publication of the latest report due out in February.
Throughout the month Febvre will be opening up 21 still and sparkling wines on a rolling basis for the trade to taste. They will also be demonstrating Le Verre de Vin Wine by the Glass technology which keeps all wines fresh for 21 days and showing their full range of Spiegelau Glassware.
