Dublin 8 distillery, Stillgarden, and Valentia Island Vermouth have joined forces to create the first truly Irish Negroni. Created by an all-female team, the Irish Negroni has tasting notes of decadent cherry and a heady acidity derived from hand-sourced and handmade Irish spirits.
Available to preorder on Stillgarden’s website now, this vibrantly red, premium cocktail is a true celebration of community and expert drinks makers, crafted from Irish gin, trailblazing Stillgarden O’Maro, and the revolutionary Valentia Island Vermouth, the latter two of which are the first products of their kind ever made in this country.
The first ever Irish Negroni is a triumph for women leading the Irish aperitif market. The all-female lead team paving the way for this first-of-its-kind cocktail comprises Viki Baird from the award-winning Stillgarden Distillery and Anna and Orla Snook O’Carroll who are the wife-and-wife duo behind Valentia Island Vermouth. At 20% ABV, it comes in a 50cl bottle for €35 with €2 from every Irish Negroni being donated to Women’s Aid.
Stillgarden’s O’Maro is a round and rich Irish Amaro with a sweet complex finish, made with community-sourced ingredients from Inchicore, Dublin 8. This is beautifully combined with Valentia Island’s sweet vermouth, made from 20 different botanicals including plants and herbs foraged locally from the southwest coast of Kerry. A wonderful collaboration of Irish spirits to create this Irish first.
