A unique chance to taste a wide and varied range of the wines from Chile at the RHA Gallagher Gallery, Ely Place, Dublin 2 this September, organised by renowned wine consultant Jean Smullen.
For over a decade, Chilean wine bubbled under in second place, now that Chile is throwing off it’s reputation for safe consistency and introducing new experimental wine styles into the mix, these emerging styles are starting to capture consumer interest.
Examples of this are the cool climate red and white wines from the emerging coastal regions. Less mainstream are the high altitude wines from the Andes as well as the novelty wines including the glorious but previously neglected old vine Carignan plantings in Maule. Add to the mix the “limited edition” boutique wine styles using previously unknown grapes such as Pais & Cinsault and experiments with dry farming in Colchagua and you get some idea of why Chilean has the potential to capturing the imagination of the Irish wine consumer.
The Chilean Wine Fair in Dublin on September 15th will showcase new wine styles from Chile and we invite anyone interested in Chilean wine to come along to the RHA to see what a delighted Chile has to offer the discerning wine consumer.
Tickets are now on sale priced at €15.
