As autumn settles in, the amount of wine events and tastings going on in Dublin multiplies. This week we’ve had the opportunity to taste wines from some of Dublin’s top retailers and independent importers and we have have gathered a trio of recommendations that will surely go down a treat this weekend.

This crisp and balanced Chablis comes from the historical vines of the Michaut Family in the Chablis region, in Northern Burgundy and it’s part of the Simply Better range at Dunes Stores.

Bright and sharp, it combines aromas of ripe lemons, green apples and white flowers, on the palate, these are complemented by a pleasant minerality and a moderate, refreshing acidity.

This white made from Viognier is an unusual and delightful treat from a variety known for its floral character and often seen in bottles from the Rhone Valley. Aromas of white peach, nectarines, eldelflower and orange blossom combine in this medium bodied and juicy glass.

This fruity and friendly red from Portugal offers more than just a funny label. It’s light bodied and with all you know and love about fruity youthful reds: expect a festival of berries and the pleasant spiciness of Shiraz.

Taste wise, blackberries and ripe cranberries and red plums are met by cinnamon and a peppery touch, its tannins are on the soft side and feel smooth, filling your palate with a berrific collection of flavours.
