Delicious, mouthwatering steaks within a relaxed atmosphere and a glass of wine or your favourite local stout sounds pretty magnificent, and this week Tom’s Table Restaurant saw a fun-filled customer appreciation night with all of the above plus one very special guest.
Guests were treated to a night to remember in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, as Irish rugby legend John Hayes joined the diners to talk about all things steak and rugby.
Kicking off with a champagne reception, this was followed by a Q&A sessaion with Hayes himself, that focused on sharing tips and tricks as well as stories of his two key topics.
Hosted by comedian Alan Shortt the celebration then continued with samples of the Hereford prime ‘Bull Hayes’ signature steaks, which will now be a star feature of the restaurant’s menu.
Renowned for their excellent steaks, Tom’s Table was filled with festive decorations, the diners treated to crackers and party favours, while the Limerick rugby star took to his chef whites in the kitchen to help prepare the succulent Bull Hayes steaks.
A true celebration of great Irish produce, the special evening’s menu also included delightful seafood from Kilmore Quay as well as a selection of locally produced cheese. Dinner was paired with hand selected wines by John Dillon and David O’Boyle of Dalcassian Wines, to ensure every mouthful was washed down with an extra and complimentary flavour.
The restaurant pays subtle tribute to its countryside origins, as well as Tom Moran and his family’s roots in West Limerick. Speaking about the association of the famous rugby player and Hereford Farmer with the family’s restaurant, Tommy Moran Junior said that “John Hayes is particularly fitting”.
“A place for people to eat, drink and relax, Tom’s Table has been designed to underscore the hospitable, social and welcoming nature of the Red Cow Moran Hotel and focuses on providing great food sourced as locally as possible with a particular emphasis, fittingly, on excellent steaks,” says Moran Jr.
“Our suppliers have all been hand selected to ensure the quality of the food we serve in our restaurant and across the hotel complex is maintained at a very high level and sure where would you find the tastiest and most succulent Irish Hereford prime steaks sourced in Munster.”
