A Winter Gathering takes places 24 & 25 November
The Dining Club is a unique new project that encourages community and connection, where guests gather together in an intimate, convivial atmosphere to share in specially-curated culinary experiences.
Traversing past and present and deeply rooted in a sense of place, The Dining Club sees chefs Kelly Keogh (Whitestown House Estate) and James Gabriel Martin (Leviathan) hosting pop-up events that focus on seasonality, heritage and story-telling. Each one is unique, designed around a theme, with changing menus, entertainment and table settings.
Whitestown House Estate, nestled near Naul in North County Dublin, is set on 130 acres of farm and parkland. The historic demesne has remained intact since 1722 and has a long a storied history of hospitality, marking it as the perfect venue for the events.
Guests for A Winter Gathering are welcomed into the drawing room for pre-dinner cocktails and canapés. The legendary long table in the dining room accommodates up to 16 guests, and by its very design encourages conversation.
In the winter months, candlelight and a crackling open fires bathe all of the rooms in a warm, orange glow. In the spring and summer months we host woodland gatherings beneath an ancient fern-leaved beech tree on the property and have picnics on the lawn. All events are ticketed – details below.
A Winter Gathering Details:
We are particularly blessed by the array of local produce available to us towards the end of November in Ireland.
As winter arrives, we have at our disposal the bounty from the autumn harvest, as well as the growing gifts that herald the colder months ahead. Preserves, winter vegetables, choice game and some store-cupboard treasures.
The changing season is inspirational in terms of cooking and preparing food.
This event also includes a ticketed option for a carefully crafted wine pairing created by Nisea Doddy, Head Sommelier of The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.
Join us at the historic Whitestown House to gather together by the roaring fire for a celebration of the winter.
We will serve a seasonal feast designed to comfort and charm. Let us celebrate what nature has given us, slow down, unwind and dine.
