Afternoon Tea has undergone a resurgence in popularity in recent years though it has long been a beloved tradition by generations of Dubliners and guests from elsewhere to visit The Shelbourne for this tea time treat.
Seen as a rite of passage for many families, introducing the younger members of the family to the tradition can now be an even sweeter occasion as the five-star The Shelbourne hotel has introduced a Children’s Paddington Bear Afternoon Tea.
Available from November 1st of this year, just in time for the exciting release of Paddington 2 movie on November 10th, the Paddington Bear Afternoon Tea is on offer at The Shelbourne until November 22nd 2017.
Of course, The Paddington Bear Afternoon Tea strongly features one of Paddington’s very favourite foods, marmalade, along with other goodies based on the famous bear’s story.
The Shelbourne Paddington Bear Afternoon Tea has a Yummy Orange Marmalade and Chocolate Cup, an Orange Marmalade Sponge Sandwich, a Paddington Chocolate Suit Case, Paddington Raspberry Red Macaroon and a rich Paddington Bear Brownie.
Instead of the selection of loose-leaf teas or specialty coffees, children enjoy a Lost and Found Strawberry Shake, and the dainty finger sandwich selection has been given a simple but satisfying makeover, including ham, cheese and Nutella.
The Paddington Bear Children’s Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne costs €28 per child, and is served daily from November 1st until November 22nd 2017, with advance booking essential.
