Peperina Bistro

Peperina Just Launched Their Second Bistro in Dublin

Peperina, one of Dublin’s most successful neighbourhood bistros, has opened a second venue in Portobello – Peperina City Bistro.

Over the past 12 years Peperina Garden Bistro has become a favourite in Ranelagh and owners Evan McAuliffe and Diego Cabrera have now unveiled the first city location for their Argentinian-influenced casual dining restaurant.

Peperina City Bistro is located in a beautifully restored Georgian house on Richmond Street South in Portobello. Taking full advantage of the bright, expansive space, the new venture includes a Dining Room with original Georgian features, a Garden Room overlooking the outside space, a stylish Rear Terrace for al fresco dining and a Cellar Room for cocktails and private dining.

Specialising in casual all day dining, Peperina is owned by Irish Argentinian couple Evan and Diego so the menu boasts a strong Argentinian twist. Pasta dishes, burgers and salads are joined by Empanadas – pastry turnovers with steak, chicken or corn & cheese filling, Parrillas –  traditional Argentinian charcoal Asado with meats, fish or vegetables, Lomitos (sandwiches) and Milanesas – thinly sliced, tender breaded meat or vegetarian escalopes.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all dishes and pastries are freshly prepared daily with the best of Irish and Argentinian ingredients using traditional recipes.

“We have been looking for a second venue for a long time but wanted to wait until we found the perfect premises in the right location. The menu at Peperina City Bistro is slightly more diverse than our Ranelagh location adding more traditional Argentinian dishes. These dishes are made in our kitchen daily by Argentinian cooks including my husband Diego and the wonderful Ida aged 76 who moved to Ireland in recent years to be close to her daughters who had made Ireland their home. Ida has been cooking since childhood at home in Argentina.

Customers will experience the same exceptional quality and consistently high level of service that is offered at our Ranelagh bistro but will enjoy a different vibe showcasing innovative culinary choices. We are very excited about bringing these dishes to an Irish audience.” says Evan McAuliffe, co-founder, Peperina.

Peperina City Bistro is open from 9am-5pm Monday & Tuesday, 9am-10pm Wednesday – Saturday, 10am-10pm Sunday
