The website devoted to West Cork food, Flavour.ie is kicking off their 2017 event schedule with a touch of sheer luxury and indulgence to herald the start of Spring. Teaming up with renowned and multi-award winning chef Caitlin Ruth, of Deasy’s Restaurant in Ring, and taking over the majestic 17th century Castle Townshend, Flavour.ie will whisk their guests away to an evening of extravagant eating and drinking; an unforgettable experience overlooking Castlehaven Harbour.
Taking place on Monday 6th March, guests will be treated to myriad delicious mouthfuls from the moment they arrive. From welcome drinks to pre-dinner sundown cocktails and canapés; to a multi-course dinner designed by Caitlin exclusively for this event, matched drinks with every course and music.
For those who would like to make the most of the beautiful venue, diners can choose to add an overnight stay in one of the Castle’s beautifully appointed rooms and enjoy a relaxed and luxurious breakfast the following morning, also created by Caitlin.
Kate Ryan of Flavour.ie said: “This event is going to be something really special. Not only is it a great opportunity to work with such a talented chef as Caitlin, but this also means that I can offer something truly unique and special to our guests. It’s not every day you get to dine and stay in a castle after all!”
Speaking about the upcoming Night at the Castle, Caitlin Ruth said “At the beginning of March, the first of the Spring ingredients will be popping up, and I’m really looking forward to working with Kate to present great drinks matched with a succession of delicious courses in the beautiful setting of the Castle.”
Guests can arrive anytime from 4pm and take time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the castle, or settle into their rooms if they are staying over. The evening really kicks off at 6pm with one of Caitlin’s renowned cocktails and canapes to nibble on as we watch the sun go down. Guests will then move to the dining room from 7pm with the first of Caitlin’s many courses gracing the tables by 7.30pm. All drinks served with the courses will be accompanied with tasting notes.
