This London Based Chef is Opening a New Restaurant in Dublin Next Spring

Ahead of his appearance at Guinness X Meatopia at the Open Gate Brewery this weekend, London based chef Niall Davidson has announced that he is opening a new restaurant in Dublin city early next year.

Niall, who is currently based in London’s Shoreditch area at his first restaurant Nuala, will take up residence in Dublin 2 next spring.

His new restaurant will serve Irish produce, cooked over fire and served at a counter. His righthand man in this new venture will be Hugh Higgins, former head chef at Luna.

Based in London, the Scottish-born chef was raised on a farm in Derry. While making the move to Dublin, he’ll retain his interest in Nuala, but leave the kitchen in the hands of Niall Aird, formerly of L’Ecrivain.

The restaurant, which is yet unnamed, will seat approximately 35-40 people and will be part of Trinity Townhouse, though it will operate separately.

If you want to sample Niall’s food ahead of his new opening next year, you can find Niall Davidson at the three-day beer, food, fire and music festival, Guinness X Meatopia, this weekend (July 6th-8th). For more information and to book tickets, visit www.guinnessopengate.com/meatopia.
