This June Bank Holiday will be an exciting weekend for Limerick as the European Food Truck Festival rolls in to town. The Limerick International Food Truck Festival will run from the 1st to the 5th of June in the city’s People’s Park.
The food truck festival is the first of its kind to take place in Ireland and Limerick is one of the only five locations that the group international food trucks travel to. Other locations are Brussels, Riga, Dijon and Bologna.
Alan Woods, President of the Food Truck Association of Ireland said, “This weekend is the culmination of a year’s hard work. It’s the first year of the event and the buzz around the city is very good. There has been a lot of interest in it across the board. Limerick City and County Council has been really instrumental in helping to get this festival off the ground.”
Food trucks from 14 countries will be taking part in the festival along with local and national traders.
Festival goes can expect highlights such as the Belgian artisan chocolate truck, a lobster burger truck and ones serving shark and crocodile treats with even a truck specializing in insect dishes and much more.
