Lidl Wines Recognised with 9 Awards at the 2016 International Wine Challenge

The 33rd edition of the International Wine Challenge, one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for the wine industry, saw nine bottles of Lidl wines rewarded.

All the participant wines are blind tasted by an expert team of judges that evaluate them on their faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Each medal-winning wine is tasted on at least three separate occasions by a minimum of 10 different judges including Masters of Wine. Awards include medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended awards.

Lidl received 2 Silver and 4 Bronze medals and 3 Commended awards. Claire Moran, Senior PR Manager for Lidl Ireland, commented, “Winning such prestigious awards is a huge endorsement of the work that has gone into producing our own brand ranges.”
