Kinara Group, Dublin’s leading collective of Pakistani and Eastern restaurants is well known for enthralling both loyal customers and first time diners through mouth watering menus and world class hospitality. Now in its 22nd year of business, the group now boasts three restaurants; Kinara, Clontarf, Kinara Kitchen, Ranelagh, and Kajjal, Malahide, each with their own unique character and direction. All currently undergoing some exciting changes, every location is continuing to serve the crowd pleasing cuisine and welcoming atmosphere Dublin diners know and love.
Since late 2022, Kinara Clontarf has been thrilled with the addition of new head bartender Simon O’Connor to the team. Manning the bar the moment he was old enough to work as a lounge boy, his career flourished in tandem with the booming cocktail craft in Ireland. Now at the helm of the Kinara bar, Simon has been working in collaboration with its chefs to create dream food and drink pairings, such as his favourite comforting Tamator Aloo Gosht with an accompanying agave based ‘Paloma’ cocktail.
Since taking up the post, Simon has shaken up the Kinara bar with a new cocktail menu. Aptly named ‘For the Locals,’ the menu hosts a myriad of adventurous mixes and playful names that will hold dear among Clontarf natives. ‘The Chimney Stacks’ is a spirit-forward take on the classic Manhattan, featuring Writer’s Tears double barrel and an applewood smoke to finish. This post meal sipper is the perfect homage to the stacks seen from Kinara’s own front door. Another nod to the locale is the tequila based ‘Around Bull Island’ made using seasonal ingredients native to the sea front. For Spring, a homemade samphire cordial takes centre stage as well as a seaweed rim. With the entire selection making use of unique elements from homemade syrups to innovative flavour combinations, the menu is sure to become a staple with Clontarf diners.
Joining the charge in menu innovation is the Wednesday night Bar Bites & Cocktails menu at Kinara Kitchen, Ranelagh. The new year sees fan favourite nibbles such as Lamb Croquettes joined by the addition of delicious new bites like Spicy Chicken Lollipops to the ever-evolving menu, all accompanied by a selection of equally delectable cocktails curated by the immensely talented bar team. With mixologist Andrei Petrescu at the helm of Ranelagh’s bar, the menu has seen some elegant and adventurous cocktail additions. Between this and Kinara Group’s Early Bird option on Wednesdays and Thursdays, midweek diners are spoiled for choice.
Kajjal in Malahide also has cause to celebrate with the news that the inimitable Paul Lambert has joined the team as head mixologist. The renowned drinks expert who has over 20 years of experience in the beverage industry, Paul is no stranger to leading the charge and treating customers to truly unforgettable dining experiences.
Open across all three locations from Wednesday – Sunday each week, whether patrons are on the hunt for delicious world cuisine, or looking for their next staple cocktail spot, bookings can be secured via email or phone.
