A Great Night Out Without the Hangover – House Leeson Street Review

Located right in the centre of Leeson Street, one of Dublin city’s most famous areas of lively bars and restaurants, House is a sophisticated and classy venue that I have paid many a visit to since its opening. The interior is beautifully decorated and creates a luxurious, yet relaxed, ambience. House is a versatile venue, with an inside bar area, outside seating and a gorgeous conservatory in the back which is popular among events organisers.

I had the pleasure of attending the #MindfulDrinking event on Thursday evening, hosted by Silk Tree Botanics, Ireland’s first non-alcoholic spirit. Stalls were lined up providing generous amounts low- and no-alcohol drinks from brands including Seedlip, Ketel One, Ceder’s Crisp and Pure Brew beers.

At the bar, there was a special menu of Silk Tree alcohol free cocktails on offer, including their twist on the classic espresso martini made using Silk Tree, double espresso, fine chocolate powder, raisin-infused honey and CBD oil, and a delicious cocktail named Smooth as Silk, made with Silk Tree, cold brew rooibos tea, coconut milk, cream, maple syrup and chocolate bitters. These cocktails were beautifully presented, and you certainly wouldn’t feel left out or deprived sipping on one of these if you were trying to cut back on alcohol.

For those who have decided not to jump on the Dry January bandwagon, fear not, as House boasts a large repertoire of alcoholic cocktails, and have launched Table 24, a new luxury gin experience in association with Beefeater 24. I can also vouch for their weekend brunch offerings, with a great selection of favourites such Huevos rancheros, classic eggs benedict and the delectable-sounding Nutella stuffed French toast.

Additionally, House is home to the mysteriously-named Red Room, a decadent bar and club area with a DJ blasting music for you to boogie on down to on the ruby-tinted dance floor.

House Dublin is the perfect destination for your next night out as it is buzzing every day of the week and is guaranteed to satisfy all members of your party. I would highly recommend checking out this spot, whether for a flying visit before hitting up Harcourt Street for a night on the tiles, or for a night in itself at the weekend where you can shimmy on down to the Red Room for a night of dancing to some great tunes.
