The Historic Carton House is on the Market for €60 Million
The luxurious and historic Carton House Hotel near Maynooth, Kildare, has gone on sale today for a price of €60 million.
The 1,100 acre estate, joint owned by the Mallaghan family and Carton Development Partnership, has spent approximately €90 million on refurbishment of the resort since 1999.
Just fourteen miles from Dublin city centre and 25 minutes from Dublin airport, this opulent property boasts an enviable location, secluded yet within touching distance of the capital and major tourist attractions.
Known for its impressive sports facilities, spa and golf course, it also boasts 165 bedrooms, including 18 suites located in the original house. For lovers of fine dining, Carton House is also home to the well-regarded Linden Tree Restaurant.
Carton House dates back to 1739 and was the ancestral home of the FitzGerald family, the Earls of Kildare and the Dukes of Leinster. The hotel’s selling agents, Savills, describe it as “one of Ireland’s most historically important stately homes.”
