Just in time for those cosy autumn nights in, Tesco Ireland has announced an exciting wine range change which sees over 100 new, carefully curated wines now on shelves. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a casual sipper, the new range has something for every palate and occasion. Check out some of the bound-to-be new favourites below.
Tesco Finest Margaux (RRP: €35.00)
This wine, made by the prestigious Château Boyd Cantenac, is from Bordeaux’s iconic Margaux region. Using exceptional grapes, this wine is full bodied with rich, ripe and complex notes of black fruit, cherries, spices and a slightly toasted finish.
Elmstone Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (RRP: €14.00 / €12.00 Clubcard Price until 15thOctober 2024)
A delicious crisp, dry wine with vibrant notes of herbaceous, gooseberry flavours and a long, zesty and refreshing finish. The Marlborough region, on the tip of New Zealand’s South Island, benefits from perfect wine- growing conditions, resulting in the production of beautiful, zesty and aromatic Sauvignon Blancs. Enjoy chilled on its own or pair with seafood, pan-fried salmon or Asian-style dishes.
La Vieille Ferme Rosé (RRP: €12.00 / €9.50 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
Beautifully pale pink in colour, fresh and fruity, with notes of red fruits, juicy nectarine and blood orange. Produced by Famille Perrin with passion and over 40 years of experience, these wines are authentic, tasty and well-balanced.
Tesco Finest Sancerre Rosé (RRP: €20.00)
Made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the famous Sancerre vineyards, this delicate rosé has refreshing flavours of stone fruit, red cherries and a long crisp finish. Best served with salads or spicy food.
Canti Prosecco Frizzante (RRP: €12.00 / €10.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
A traditional Prosecco with notes of freshly ripened pears and a dry finish. The Glera grapes are softly pressed and kept at 0 degrees until ready, and the natural sparkling takes place in stainless steel pressurised tanks. The Veneto region where it is produced was granted DOCG status in 2010 as it is the ideal home for Prosecco.
Piccini Collezione Privata Toscana IGT (RRP: €15.00 / €12.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
This selection has been meticulously created by Mario Piccini himself in Tuscany, with his signature on each bottle as a personal guarantee of the wine’s quality. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of large barrels, barriques, and second and third passage tonneaux which results in a harmonious and well-structured wine with rich complexity.
Maison du Vin Picpoul de Pinet (RRP: €15.00 / €12.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
Picpoul de Pinet stretches along the Mediterranean Sea coast and is drenched with hot summer sun, ensuring the grapes are perfectly ripe when picked to produce perfectly crisp and citrus wine, with hints of stone fruit, lemon, white peach & apple.
Plaimont Saint Mont Grande Cuvee Tradition (RRP: €15.00 / €12.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
Grande Cuvée Tradition is made from the historical and rare grapes that characterise the Saint Mont vineyard: Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu and Arrufiac. Selected from cooler vineyard plots, this light, crisp wine offers intense floral aromas, followed on the palate by citrus and ripe peach flavours mixed with subtle notes of dried fruit. Enjoy chilled with fish, creamy chicken dishes or soft cheeses.
Howard Park Margaret River Miamup Chardonnay (RRP: €15.00 / €14.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
The cooler climate of southern Margaret River produces distinct varietal character and high natural acidity. The use of traditional winemaking practices and maturation on French oak allows winemakers to craft layered and flavoursome wine, with the capacity to age gracefully. The Howard Park regional range uses premium fruit, grown where there is maximum potential to express the best of the variety.
Tesco Finest Falanghina (RRP: €15.00 / €12.00 Clubcard Price until 15th October 2024)
Crafted by Feudi using native Falanghina grapes from Campania and small batch production methods, this wine has delicate flavours of orange peel, stone fruit and acacia flowers while leaving a deliciously long fresh finish. Pairs with fish pie, fried scallops, grilled prawns and sushi.
