Congratulations to the team in Blake’s Corner Bar, having just been awarded ‘Best Bar Food in Ireland’ at the prestigious ‘Bar of the Year Awards’ for 2019.

Speaking of the accolade, Eimear Killian, General Manager of Blake’s Corner Bar said ‘Needless to say we are absolutely thrilled to receive such a coveted award. The calibre of the competition was very high so its a pretty impressive achievement for our Head Chef Dave Thompkins and all the team to receive.

Located in the heart of Galway city at the intersection of Eglinton Street and Mary Street, Blake’s take a real in-house approach to each meal they produce, working with local suppliers to offer a real taste of the West of Ireland.

The Bar of the Year judges travel the length and breath of the country to choose their winners. Blake’s Corner Bar was the only venue in a Galway to receive the gold medal place, with The Front Door Pub receiving silver in the ‘City Bar of the Year’ category.
