The cleanest town in Ireland has officially been revealed and the answer may surprise you.
As litter can definitely cause tourists to be less than keen to visit a particular town or city, keeping an eye on the cleanliness of an area is important.
With this in mind, Ennis has been named the cleanest town in Ireland for 2017. The Co. Clare town was closely followed by Kildare and Roscommon.

On the positive side, many of Ireland’s towns and cities were deemed as clean as European norms. Waterford was named the cleanest city in Ireland. However, some cities, including Galway and Dublin were declared to be quite littered.
Ennis is set to receive a public sculpture worth €40,000 to mark the town’s win. The survey was conducted by An Taisce on behalf of Irish Businesses Against Litter (IBAL). For more information, visit ibal.ie.
