Catlebar in County Mayo is on a mission to become the Gin Capital of Ireland and on this June Bank Holiday, the town’s publicans along with the Castlebar Chamber of Commerce will launch a gin trail. Starting with a launch party on Friday June 2nd, the Castlebar Gin Trail is expected to attract both gin enthusiasts and newbies interested in learning and enjoying the clear spirit.
The celebration will take place at 8:00 pm in the Connaught Inn. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Once launched, the trail will be running on regular basis for the foreseeable future.
Each participating pub will specialise in one particular gin for the trail, creating and offering a Gin & Tonic designed to highlight is characteristics by pairing the tipple with premium tonics and carefully chosen garnishes.
Gin explorers will receive a map and guide to help them find their way around the town.
