A new bar and restaurant, Bow Lane on Aungier Street held it’s official opening on this week, on May 11th. Deigned to satisfy on every level, Bow Lane is the latest spot to check out whether you fancy quiet pint, a serious cocktail, great bar snacks or a sophisticated dinner.
Geoff Nordell, the man behind Whitefriar Grill, the long-time Aungier Street staple and firm favourite of the brunch crowd, is at the helm of Bow Lane. Located right next door to its sister restaurant, Bow Lane is open seven days a week, with a stylish bar, handsome restaurant and cosy private space making it the perfect spot for after-work drinks, private parties or large gatherings.
The centrepiece of Bow Lane is the private snug, separating the bar from the restaurant and surrounded by Art Deco panels and luxe curtains. Catering for private parties of up to 30, the snug offers all the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant but with added privacy.
Flanking the snug is the handsome restaurant with its petrol blue and tan leather interior. Focusing on modern Irish cooking with traditional favourites given a fresh twist, expertly crafted fare by head chef Gary Tilley ensures Bow Lane is one of the essential new dining destinations in Dublin.
Guests at the launch enjoyed a cocktail demonstration from award winning mixologist, and bar manager Dan Mulligan, as well as sampling some dishes from their exciting new menu. Dishes included grilled oysters with ‘nduja rarebit, and duck egg’n’soldiers with bacon jam.
Tommy Hannan, restaurant manager welcomed guests and introduced the team behind Bow Lane while resident DJ Eamonn Barrett kept the crowd happy with some Summer tunes as guests admired the latest renovations to the bar and restaurant space.
Owner Geoff Nordell says “We wanted Bow Lane to become that go-to spot no matter what the occasion. Where you could slip in after work for a pint, or come along at the weekend with a gang of friends for a bite or some really well-made food and cocktails and then party the night away in the bar. A lot of hard work has been put into Bow Lane and I’m really proud of what the team has achieved so far – I think our passion shows in everything that we do here, whether it’s with our food, with our service or behind the bar.”
Bow Lane Bar is open Monday to Friday from 3pm ’til late, and on Saturdays & Sundays from 10:30am ’til late. Bow Lane Restaurant serves dinner every night from 5pm with Weekend Brunch on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from 10.30am to 4pm.
