Clean Coasts, a Failte Ireland endorsed programme, was delighted to team up with giants of the wine world, Barefoot Wine, for a second year for the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project 2018.
This year’s clean up event took place in Bray on 19th May, with locals getting their hands dirty to ensure their beloved beach was pristine. Over 335kg of waste was collected off Bray Beach during a one hour beach clean, by over 100 local volunteers.
Barefoot Wine is on a mission to make the world a better place through wine and work with the Clean Coasts programme to help make Ireland’s beaches barefoot friendly. The Californian winery, headed up by winemaker Jen Wall, is involved in a number of charitable causes worldwide in a bid to give back to the globe as the most awarded wine brand in the world.
Clean Coasts organises hundreds of beach clean-ups annually mobilising thousands of volunteers, removing considerable quantities of marine litter from the Irish coastline.
