Aldi’s Exquisite Collection Côtes de Provence Rosé has recently been awarded a Silver Medal at the prestigious International Wine Challenge 2017. The Aldi Rosé wine, which retails at €8.99 in Ireland (£5.99 in the UK), is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes and it has an ABV of 13%. There is also a magnum of the same wine at €18.99.
It is described as a “sensational blend” that “delivers delicate yet intense flavours of summer fruits, with a subtle quartzy spice.” Fruity aromas of strawberry and white fruit and the lightness characteristic of the Côtes de Provence have earned this very affordable bottle a position of honour.
Thousands of wines compete at the International Wine Challenge every year. They’re evaluated and blind tasted by a panel of experts who take into consideration the wine’s faithfulness to its style, region and vintage. Depending on their ratings, a wine can receive a medal (Trophy, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended and Great Value awards.
