Dads are the most ordinary of men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, storytellers, and singers of song. Story, heroes, and adventure are at the heart of Islay Whiskies. A wild and untamed place, where Celtic monks found refuge from raiding Norsemen and where early distillers smuggled their illicit “aquavitae” at Ardbeg’s rugged rocky cove. Some historians also believe that distillation reached Scotland from Ireland via Islay when the Lord of the Isles married the daughter of an Ulster baron.
With an abundance of prized peat, soft water, and fertile soil, it has laid the foundations for the distinctive and precious smoky dram of Ardbeg. The ideal gift for this father’s day.
10 Year Old – Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance. Non chill-filtered with a strength of 46% ABV.

An Oa – Ardbeg An Oa is singularly rounded, due in no small part to time spent in our newly established bespoke oak Gathering Vat where whiskies from several cask types – including; sweet Pedro Ximenez; spicy virgin charred oak; and intense ex-bourbon casks, amongst others – familiarise themselves with each other. The result is a dram with smoky power, mellowed by a delectable, smooth sweetness. Hallmark Ardbeg peat, dark chocolate and aniseed are wrapped in smooth, silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove, before rising to an intense crescendo of flavour. Non chill-filtered with a strength of 46.6% ABV
