As the evenings start to shorten and the gleam of summer slowly fades, we are ready to embrace the warm glow of autumn here at Suesey Street. The intimate setting of our restaurant is the perfect place to gather for special occasions and events that will undoubtedly be your most memorable. 

This October we invite you to join us for an exquisite dining experience where we have partnered with world renowned champagne brand Charles Heidsieck, for a luxurious 5 course tasting dinner.

Hosted by Suesey Street’s John Healy and Charles Heidsieck brand ambassador Simon Stockton, they will welcome you to start your evening off with a glass of Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve and oysters in our garden terrace room. Simon will guide you through some of the champagnes you will be tasting over the evening and give you a little bit of background on why Charles Heidsieck has remained one one of the most awarded champagne houses to this day.

You will then be invited into the dining room to take your seat and to enjoy three delectable courses expertly paired with the Charles Heidsieck range followed by petit fours. Each course will be introduced by Simon and John, who will explain why the flavours in each dish go with the specifically chosen champagne. Each course will be carefully crafted by the Suesey Street kitchen team where a burst of beautiful flavours and high quality produce will be delivered on each and every plate, ensuring all our guests enjoy a five star dining experience. 

Charles Heidsieck is one of the great names of Champagne and produces some of the finest cuvées. The House was founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, a gentleman-entrepreneur with a taste for adventure who reinvented the champagne market in the mid-19th century. He was the first founder of a Champagne House to travel to America, establishing the American taste for Champagne, earning him legendary status across the Atlantic and the nickname, “Champagne Charlie”. He famously invested in the underground Cathedral-like chalk cellars under Reims, originally dug by the Romans 2000 years ago. They are still used today to age all of Charles Heidsieck’s champagnes. The foundation of the House’s modern fame rests on the unrivalled quality of its wines, which receive countless awards and accolades year after year.

Simon Stockton is a Champagne and Sparkling Wine specialist employed by Liberty Wines as Brand Manager for Charles Heidsieck. As a consultant he has worked with Moet et Chandon, Piper-Heidsieck, Rare Champagne, Squerryes English Sparkling Wine and Nyetimber. He also works with Tom Stevenson as a judge on the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships and has tasted over 10,000 sparkling wines. Simon held the title of UK Champagne Ambassador from 2015-2017 and is an ‘Officier’ of the Ordre de Coteaux de Champagne.

This in-person event on October 11th promises to be a memorable evening filled with gastronomic delights and sparkling conversation and tickets are available now at €175pp via Eventbrite.
