We always love seeing what new food and drink events Roe & Co Distillery dreams up, and their latest dining and drinks pairing experience sounds like the perfect festive treat.
From Thursday 28th November, Roe & Co Distillery will open its doors for a limited-run Christmas Reimagined dining and drinks pairing experience. Partnering with chef Caomhan di Bri (formerly of Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Maze, and now the owner of a nomadic food truck The Salt Project), the Dublin 8 whiskey-makers will offer guests the opportunity to savour his skills and creativity with “an elevated four-course food and whiskey pairing menu.”
The food menu takes traditional Christmas dishes and flavours and adds “contemporary festive flair”. The experience will take place over two hours across four spaces in the Distillery, so you’ll really get a full feel for what Roe & Co is all about. Seasonal and sustainable dishes have been carefully paired with a whiskey-forward cocktail menu designed by the award-winning Roe & Co Distillery mixologists.
Here’s what to look forward to on the menu:
Starting with canapes, guests will work their way through a reimagined Christmas Day menu, re-working traditional dishes with new techniques and flavours.
The menu kicks off with a ‘Christmas morning’ dish of The Rudds full Irish croquette, sp breakfast sauce and organic bacon crumb., followed by Atlantic Irish cured herring with a Butlers organic poached egg and Goatsbridge trout caviar.
There’s also a Dublin Bay prawn cocktail, and other unique takes on Christmas classics, such as Feighcullen free-range turkey with foraged bog cranberry sauce.
Expect to walk away with a fresh take on festive fine dining, inspired by De Brí’s love of the Irish landscape and the delicious produce in winter.
Accompanying drinks include a fresh bucks-fizz twist, festive red apple cocktail, intriguing whiskey tasters and an interactive spiced cider, allowing guests to tailor the ingredients to their taste.
Guests will also have the opportunity to create their own winter warmer cocktail in the distillery’s Power House Bar and when the event ends (in the spirit of Christmas!) you’ll leave with a special gift to remember the evening.
Tickets are on sale here and are priced at €85 per person.
