Amsterdam-founded viral smash burger restaurant Fat Phill’s has announced it’s opening its first Irish location later this month in Temple Bar, Dublin.
Known across Holland for its indulgent, flavour-packed menu, Fat Phill’s has made a name for itself with its juicy premium smash burgers (which will be crafted from 100% premium Irish beef), their signature Philly cheesesteak, crispy buttermilk fried chicken, loaded sides, and over-the-top shakes.
The Dublin location will also feature a curated selection of beer, wine, and classic American-style milkshakes to “complete the Fat Phill’s experience”.
Fat Phill’s began in 2019, quickly growing from a single burger bar into one of the Netherlands’ most celebrated fast-casual brands

Since its launch, Fat Phill’s has earned acclaim including Best Burger in Amsterdam (Burger Society Awards 2022) and has been featured in Time Out and Eater as one of Europe’s must-visit burger destinations.
The franchise owners – who are natives of Dublin – have been excited about Fat Phill’s since their first visit. “We’ve wanted to bring Fat Phill’s to Dublin for a while. Temple Bar is a vibrant, cultural hub – exactly the kind of neighbourhood where Fat Phill’s belongs. We’re excited to bring something bold, flavourful, and fresh to the city’s food scene.”
The new Temple Bar location is designed with the same “urban, laid-back vibe” as the Netherlands’ locations – complete with neon signage, graffiti-style artwork, and music that sets the tone for a “proper burger party”.
Fat Phill’s Dublin opens its doors on May 29th.
