A brand new Japanese Izakaya bar and restaurant by Musashi has now opened on Capel Street, D1, and will offer up a tempting menu of charcoal yakitori, sushi, small bites, donburi (rice bowls), curry and more.
Hana Izakaya will bring a new taste of Japan to the city with cosy izakaya vibes, sake, plum wine, Japanese whisky and cocktails. It’s been in the works since March 2023, finally opening this week after a full custom fit-out and menu development stage.
Dishes we’re looking forward to include chicken thigh yakitori; eel yakitori; tempura soba noodles and the homemade matcha Basque cheesecake

Known for their authentic Japanese cuisine, Musashi’s latest venture brings the vibrant spirit of an izakaya to Dublin. Expect delicious small plates, expertly crafted sushi, and a lively atmosphere that’s perfect for casual dining and late-night gatherings.
Often described as a sort of Japanese gastropub (for want of a better word!), izakayas are casual eateries where you can enjoy small plates of food alongside drinks like sake, beer, or Japanese whiskey. The emphasis is on sharing, with a menu designed for variety—think yakitori (skewers of grilled meats), fresh sushi, crispy tempura, and katsu curries.
Hana Izakaya is located on 154-155 Capel Street and you can see more info here.
