Margadh Launches New Wednesday Tasting Menu & Wine Pairing Dinners

Midweek dining just got a lot better now that Margadh at the beautiful RHA Gallery has launched its new regular Wednesday wine & tasting menu dinner series. The first Wednesday wine dinner will take place on February 19th, where wines will be introduced and paired with a five course menu.

Dinner will start at 7pm and will be €105 per person on the evening – there’s only 30 seats available for each wine dinner, so book soon if you fancy this.

Speaking to TheTaste, owner Jess D’Arcy said that their project at Margadh RHA has been developing gradually over the past few years, and for these new wine dinners Jess is working with Alexi Deroubaix, their wine bar manager and “all around wine guy” at Margadh RHA.

Their goal for these dinners is to “encourage guests to enjoy more focused events in the comfortable surroundings of the wine bar. We are working on a schedule of these dinners ( three upcoming in the works) which will happen on Wednesday evenings.”

Margadh hopes this wine dinner project elevates the wine focus even more, giving their guests the chance to explore new and exciting tastes and insights.

Wines featured at the upcoming dinner on February 19th will be from Guerila Wines, who produce biodynamic wines from the Vipava valley in Slovenia

Margadh will host one of the team from Guerila wines , a biodynamic Slovenian winemaker.

Their wines are firm favourites on Mamó (sister restaurant in Howth, home to the beloved cod chip dish) and Margadh lists already.

Zmago Petrič’s family’s winery is located in Vipavska Dolina and from the very beginning, they have worked organically and biodynamically, devoting their energies to local grape varieties and respecting the natural environment around them.

Concentrating on the varieties of Zelen and Pinela which are only grown in this region and nowhere else on the planet, they have built a genuinely unique proposition. Everything is hand-picked, naturally fermented and then bottled unfiltered with just a minimal sulphur addition, creating wines that are delicate, mineral and full of freshness.

Jess D’Arcy commented that Margadh prides themselves in “creating a relaxed and accessible environment in general, where the highest quality food and wine can be showcased gently to a diverse audience.

“People can drop into Margadh for anything from a coffee and a sandwich during the day to a snack and a drink, a nibble of cheese, or for a full tasting version of what we offer. This dynamic space is what we take most pride in.”
