Eden at Lyrath Estate is now open, the new garden-inspired restaurant set in the heart of the estate’s historic grounds in Kilkenny. Overlooking Lady Charlotte’s Gardens, Eden Bistro is a fresh take on bistro dining in a relaxed, lush and pretty setting.
A tribute to the estate’s rich horticultural heritage, taking inspiration from the original gardens created by Lady Charlotte Wheeler-Cuffe – a celebrated botanical artist, gardener and plant collector.
Floral wall coverings create a wrap-around sense of bringing the outdoors in, plush upholstery in blooming prints and the curving stems of chandeliers echo the plant life found in Lady Charlotte’s Gardens.
The menu at Eden Bistro focuses on simple, flavour-driven dishes made with seasonal ingredients

It’s an elegant take on classic bistro fare – think Wild Garlic Soup with smoked Gubeen cheese cream, & sourdough croutons, Kenmare Bay Chilli & Garlic Prawns, or Kildare Lamb Shoulder Croquettes to start. For mains, dishes include pan-fried halibut with a mussel and vermouth beurre blanc, prawn & mussel linguine with spiced tomato sauce served with rocket & parmesan salad, or an indulgent 10oz Irish overnight braised feather blade of beef.
And vegan and vegetarian options are also available, like Abi’s Madras vegetable curry, along with a selection of sides, and desserts including Lyrath rhubarb, strawberries, cinnamon & oat crumble and a Lyrath Estate cheeseboard featuring Irish artisan cheese.
Eden Bistro is now open to residents and non-residents alike. For bookings and more information, visit www.lyrath.com.
