January Special Restaurant Offers That Won’t Break the Bank

January kicks off a time where goals and ambitions are high, but the pockets are suffering from post-Christmas gifting. If you’re still trying to head out on the town but still want to stick to a budget, or you’re taking part in Veganuary for a healthy start to 2024, check out these restaurant offers around Dublin.

Hawksmoor

The much-loved Hawskmoor is always a delight to visit, with impeccable steak, delicious sides and unique drinks, all enjoyed in a beautiful venue. This January, a visit to Hawksmoor will be a little kinder to the pockets without sacrificing taste. Enjoy a lean rump steak with their virtuous sides for only €23! If you’re leaning on the side of health this month, their butterhead salad or spinach with lemon & garlic are great, flavourful options to pair with your steak, but of course, a little indulgence is always encouraged, so some beef dripping chips would go down a treat. If you’re going all out and doing dry January too, their mocktails are equally delicious, and are only €6!

This offer is only available Monday – Saturday from 12 – 3 pm & 5pm bookings – redeem the offer by writing ‘Lean Rump’ in your booking box, or mention to your waiter at the restaurant.

Gourmet Food Parlour

Bringing customers varied offerings from breakfast to brunch and lunch to dinner, Gourmet Food Parlour have always had something for everyone at their various locations. Known and loved for their ever-changing specials menus, this month, those partaking in Veganuary will be delighted. As we all know by now, vegan does not mean boring, and Gourmet Food Parlour have proven this statement with their new menu. The Bhaji Burger in particular is catching our eye, but their Wild Mushroom Melt, the Green Goodies Pasta or the Roasted Sweet Potato Salad are enticing for both vegans and non-vegans alike!

Chimac

Everybody’s favourite Korean fried chicken spot is bringing us an exciting addition to the restaurant offers this month. Chimac are running All You Can Eat Wings Wednesdays for a limited time only. For 75 whole minutes, delight in as many delicious wings as your heart desires for only €15. We all know Chimac’s sauce flavours are undefeated – our personal favourite is the Sriracha Caramel Pourover!

Chimac are also letting kids eat for free on Thursdays in Terenure, so get the family down this January for a tasty treat.

NoLIta

Another one for the Veganuary crowd – the authentic Italian spot, NoLIta, known for their delicious pizzas, tasty drinks and memorable events, have launched a new vegan menu. If you thought you’d have to give up your carb-y favourites, think again – you can get your favourite pizzas, pastas and starters without sacrificing the taste! Plus, the addition of some non-alcoholic cocktails to your dinner will turn it into the perfect meal.

The Purty Kitchen

Another menu dedicated to Veganuary, The Purty Kitchen in Dun Laoghaire have thrown their hat into the ring with a special menu for our plant-based friends. Enjoy a tasty 3 course menu of vegan delights for only €35 per person, and if you’re not partaking in dry January then throw in their wine pairings for an extra €25. Butternut squash risotto, wild mushrooms with garlic aioli and mixed berry crumble with raspberry sorbet… drooling!

Mr French

A cafe favourite for us all is not just known for their delicious coffee – Mr French has just launched their new sandwich menu. Each priced at €10.50, these sandwiches are no flimsy, school lunch ordeal. Following the success of their Christmas Sleigher sandwich, Mr French is here to impress with the 4 new sandwiches for customers to enjoy, and we’re sure you’ll be back to try each one with a cup of their fabulous coffee. We’ve got our eye on the chicken shawarma…

Meltdown

Just because you’re vegan, doesn’t mean you have to give up your favourite indulgences! Everybody loves a cheese toastie, and Meltdown are known for their legendary, ooey gooey sandwiches. If you need a break from all the dairy from your Christmas cheeseboards but still want a little treat, Meltdown have launched the Squash and Melt. Full of seasonal butternut squash, sweet caramelised onions, hummus, spinach, vegan paprika mayo and vegan mozzarella, pair this tasty toastie with their spicy tomato soup for the ultimate winter warmer.

BAH33º

If the plant-based life is not for you, then BAH33º is the place to visit. Brazilian BBQ is the perfect feast for meat-lovers, and at BAH33º gives you the most authentic experience around. For the month of January, when you purchase two Gaucho Rodízios BBQ experiences, you’ll get 2 glasses of house wine for free! Enjoy unique cuts of meat, smokey barbecue flavours and a memorable ritual that will have you back for more.

Bresson

A favourite both to the Monkstown locals and French fine dining fanatics, Bresson have launched a fabulous new winter menu this month. Start off with a decadent roquefort and red wine poached pear with truffle honey, give their Venison ragout a try and, to finish off with something sweet, a rhubarb crumble. Head here for lunch or for their early bird menus so you can enjoy these dishes without breaking the bank!

Hugo’s

Comforting and inviting, Hugo’s is Gina Murphy’s classy, city centre restaurant on Merrion Row and has been a tried and true spot for years. If you’re looking to head out on the town without burning a hole in your wallet, Hugo’s have launched their pre-theatre menu this month. A concise but enticing menu is to be expected, with the slow cooked short rib in particular catching our eye. For only €42 for 3 courses, this is an absolute steal and a must-try this month!

Heartbreak Social Club

Though this is not a menu special, we had to throw this PSA in. Heartbreak Social Club took December by storm when they offered all coffees (yes, that included alt milks & syrups!) for only €2. In a very welcome move, they have officially announced that this will be a permanent change! A great way to start off 2024.

Silk Purse

Another spot that has made the move to affordable coffee, Silk Purse cafe on Nassau Street will be selling their coffee to €2.50 for the month of January! Plus, if you’re doing Veganuary (or just trying to eat less meat), their hot takeaway options and their hUg vegan food pouches will be sold for only €5. Save some money, eat some hearty food and thank us later.

I’m a Palestinian who grew up in Cyprus and moved to Dublin in 2013, so I’ve had a mishmash of different cultures and cuisines surrounding me my whole life. I’m an avid foodie, and after realising that life as a lawyer was not for me, I studied media and became a radio host for Dublin City FM. I’m now writing for TheTaste full time, but I also have my own food blog where you can find a mixture of restaurant reviews and the occasional recipe. I talk a lot about being Palestinian; to be honest, I talk a lot in general. That’s why I did radio!
