Former Head Chef of Michelin Starred Chapter One, Eric Matthews, and business partner, Richie Barrett, come together to bring us Kicky’s; a new venture set to open its doors today, November 6th.
Inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean, stretching from Portugal to Turkey and enhanced with local Irish ingredients, customers can expect dishes cooked over an open flame, hand-rolled pastas, and an array of signature cocktails. Chef Eric Matthews describes Kicky’s as “A place I would like to go and eat on my day off. This is a space that is all about good food, good cocktails, and great art.” The restaurant boasts a specially designed mural created by Dublin Artist Leah Hewson, serving as a captivating focal point for diners alongside curated pieces from talented artist Aoife Scott.
The duo were keen to create a relaxed and comfortable space that customers would return to regularly, and not just for a special occasion. This is reflected in the ambiance but also in the cooking. Chef Eric Matthews takes his experience in Michelin Starred restaurants and pairs it back to deliver a menu filled with comforting dishes that focus on big flavours.
With a relaxed atmosphere, solid ingredients and signature cocktails, Kicky’s is a destination for food enthusiasts, art lovers, and anyone seeking a fun and memorable experience.
Kicky’s opens on George’s Street today, Monday November 6th.
