Founded in 2017 by Charlotte Leonard-Kane and Shane Palmer, their journey began as a market stall in Dublin 8, so it’s only fitting that the cult-status bakery has returned to the neighbourhood.

From early February Scéal will be at Little Bird Yoga on South Circular Road in Portobello

Scéal’s menu changes with the seasons, championing local Irish ingredients and dedicated suppliers, all while ensuring everything they bake is fresh, everyday. What more could you ask for either before or after a yoga class? It’s a match made in heaven.

Scéal owners Charlotte and Shane shared the welcome news on their Instagram, saying:

Scéal means “story” in Irish, and this place is a big part of ours.

Dublin 8 believed in what we were trying to do at a moment when belief mattered most. That support didn’t just help us survive.
It helped shape who we are and how we work.

So returning here in early 2026 feels less like an opening and more like a homecoming.
