For those of us who can’t resist a rich, indulgent bite or two, chocolate is a shortcut to smiling. It can be a quick boost of energy or the slow end to the perfect dinner. It is a sweet way of saying ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ or even ‘I love you’.
And speaking of love, chocolate lovers are spoiled for choice in Dublin. The flavour and ingredient stars in countless treats, from the simple yet delicious to the sophisticated and memorable.
In preparation for World Chocolate Day this July 7, we have prepared a list that gathers some of our favourite chocolate experiences in Dublin, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Butlers Chocolate Experience Tour
Feel like Charlie in the chocolate factory with this experience suitable for all ages. The Butlers Chocolate experience Tour has become an iconic tourist attraction where visitors get to know cocoa’s fascinating journey, the process behind how different chocolates are made, and of course, create their own treat to take home (or to eat on the spot, who are we to judge?).

Chocolate Sweet God at Sweet Churro
This is not your typical sugar-coated churro. This churro boss is probably named after the first thing you’ll say when you take a bite. It’s one large churro with a silky chocolate filling, covered with guess what? Yes, more chocolate. Crunchy, warm and ideal for sharing it… with yourself.

The Rich B*tch at Pink Restaurant
This playful dessert offers a delicious contrast between creamy and crunchy and between the crunchy millionaires base and decadent feel of the rich chocolate top. The addition of orange crunch bar adds a nice kick to the chocolatey profile, and a gold leaf gives it that final touch that makes it unapologetically extra.

Marshmallow Bomb at Three Twenty Ice Cream Lab
A hot chocolate to remember. Forget the mini-marshmallows and go big with a big toasted one on top of a cup of comforting and rich hot choc. We are getting strong s’mores energy from this drink that you can enjoy as you walk along town, maybe take it to St. Stephen’s Green.
