I am in peak festival season right now, so that means hosting talks and cooking demonstrations at food stages at festivals around the country. It’s a part of my job that I love. Anyone who knows me knows I love talking, so, just stand me on a stage beside a willing interviewee with a microphone in my hand and you’ve got yourself a show.
Genuinely though, I love chatting with producers, chefs, writers, you name it. I am in awe of their passion and commitment. And I’m just there to help tell their story to audiences and hopefully connect people with Irish food and drink in a way they’ve not experienced before. It’s a buzz!
I feel the same when I eat out. Food is a storytelling tool, whether it’s connecting us with where our food comes from or the chef’s interpretation of the ingredients to create a completely new story.
