Call me shallow, but more often than not, a great hotel can be judged on the quality of the bathrobe and slippers. Of course the rooms, service, food and amenities are of the utmost importance, but a plush bathrobe? That’s something you can take to the bank, or at least wrap around yourself while enjoying an indulgent hotel escape, if not the Irish weather. Come rain or shine, a great hotel will cover all the bases, or at the very least, wine you and dine you so well that bad weather becomes a mere inconvenience. These are some of my recent favourites.
Ok, it may well be on the (very) spendy side, but if there is one Irish hotel that should be on your bucket list, it’s Adare Manor in leafy Limerick. Adare Manor epitomises everything that is go
