Following on from an exciting evening in Glasgow at the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2025 Ceremony – which saw three new Michelin stars for Irish restaurants – the Guide has also announced two new Bib Gourmands for Ireland.
This category of award is given to restaurants rewarded for their quality cooking at a reasonable price. These are the restaurants where “generosity is the order of the day, providing tremendous value for money without skimping on flavour”.
New Bib Gourmand Restaurants Ireland 2025
Baba’de, Baltimore
The Guide commented: “One of County Cork’s most famous chefs, Ahmet Dede, has expanded his reach within this lovely coastal town. Alongside his flagship Two-Star restaurant, Chef Dede now runs this informal operation that delivers the same blend of Turkish flavours and Irish produce, with a more comforting, homely feel to it.”
daróg, Galway
“You’ll find few more welcoming places than this passionately run little wine bar, where the thoughtfully curated list is matched by the precision and flavour of the enticing small plates”, according to the Guide.
Daróg’s Sommelier and Owner Zsolt Lukács was also awarded the MICHELIN Sommelier Award.
