F.X. Buckley wine list has again retained its Best of Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator for 2025 reflecting its position as one of Ireland leading dining and wine destinations.

For the third year running, F.X. Buckley has received the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ award by Wine Spectator for 2025. This esteemed award acknowledges the excellence of the F.X. Buckley wine list, which perfectly complements their renowned menus. 

The wine selection, expertly curated by Alan Crowley, Master of Wine, and Brian Buckley, Director, has progressed from receiving the Award of Excellence in 2022 and received the Best of Award of Excellence status in 2023, an accolade which it again retained in 2024 and now, once again for 2025.

This ongoing recognition from Wine Spectator places F.X. Buckley among the elite of global restaurants which are celebrated for their exceptional wine selection

The extensive wine list features wines from the old classic wine producing countries like France, especially Bordeaux and Burgundy, as well as Italy and Spain. In addition, the selection contains a wide selection of wines from the exciting newer wine regions in the USA, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, Austria, Uruguay, and Lebanon. 

Among other highlights is F.X. Buckley’s own South African creation, a range of wines from Webersburg in South Africa discovered by Managing Director, Stephen Buckley during a private wine tasting at the winery while on his honeymoon. The selection of Webersburg listed include a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, a fruity Cabernet and Merlot blend called “Bastiaan,” an elegant pure Cabernet Sauvignon wine.

Always looking forward to the future of their fine wine cellar, F.X. Buckley are one of the few restaurants in Ireland that, every year, buys the best of the newly released Bordeaux wines “En Primeur” to add to their extensive fine wine cellar. “We lay these wines down in our future listing cellar until they are mature and ready for our customers to enjoy” commented Brian Buckley.
